Install BMIS like a native Android & Windows app

Android phones & tablets (app drawer)

1. Open BMIS in Chrome (recommended) over HTTPS.
2. Tap the in-app Install app button, or Chrome menu (⋮) → Install app / Add to Home screen.
3. Confirm install. BMIS appears in your app drawer and home screen like a native Android app (standalone, no browser bar).
4. Optional: long-press the icon → App info to pin or manage notifications.

Windows PC (Start menu & desktop)

1. Open BMIS in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
2. Click the install icon in the address bar, or menu → Install BMIS / Apps → Install this site as an app.
3. Confirm. BMIS is added to the Start menu, can be pinned to the taskbar, and opens in its own desktop window.
4. Edge may also offer Create desktop shortcut during install.

iPhone & iPad (iOS / iPadOS)

Apple does not show a native install prompt. Use Safari’s Add to Home Screen:

1. Open BMIS in Safari (not Chrome/Firefox on iOS).
2. Tap Share (□↑).
3. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Name it BMIS → Add.

How updates work

• When a new build is deployed, the service worker downloads it in the background.
• BMIS shows an Update available banner — tap Update now to reload into the new version.
• Closing and reopening the installed app also picks up activated updates.

Offline & cache behaviour

• App shell (HTML, JS, CSS, icons, landing/login) is precached for instant launch.
• Visited pages use network-first with offline fallback to the last cached copy or the offline screen.
• POS: product catalogue is saved locally when online; cash sales can be queued offline and sync with idempotent IDs when you reconnect.
